Amy Cokayne and Sarah Bonar named to England and Scotland squads for WXV Global Series
Royal Air Force rugby stars Amy Cokayne and Sarah Bonar have been named to their national team's squads ahead of the upcoming Women's WXV Global Series.
The all-new WXV Global Series replaces the original three-tier WXV competition which ran from 2023-2024, both of which were won by the Red Roses.
The competition did not run in 2025 due to the Women's Rugby World Cup.
Red Roses star Amy Cokayne, who was part of the World Cup winning squad last year, was named onto England's training squad alongside fellow Red Roses stars Marlie Packer and Ellie Kildunne for the upcoming tournament.
Cokayne, who holds 94 England caps, has been in excellent form in 2026 after serving as England's vice-captain at this year's Guinness Women's Six Nations.
It was there where she achieved a 100% try-scoring record in the tournament – helping the Red Roses to a record eighth consecutive Women's Six Nations title and their fifth Grand Slam in a row.
Sarah Bonar has been named to Scotland's 32-player squad for the WXV Global Series – marking her return to the Scottish team after a spell of injury kept her out of this year's Guinness Women's Six Nations.
Bonar, who played for Scotland at last year's Women's Rugby World Cup, recently made her international return when she featured for Barbarians Women against Wales in June.
England play in their opening match against Australia at CorpAcq Stadium, Salford on 12 June, then they take on Canada at Exeter’s Sandy Park a week later, before ending their home leg of WXV fixtures at Allianz Stadium against New Zealand on Saturday 26 September.
Scotland will face 2025 World Cup runners up Canada on 12 September, current world number twos New Zealand on the 19 September and Australia on 26 September at the Hive Stadium.
