Shadow Defence Secretary Retains Seat Despite Fall In Vote Share

The Shadow Defence Secretary has been re-elected as an MP, despite receiving a smaller share of the votes than in 2017.
Nia Griffith, MP for Llanelli constituency in Wales, received 42.2% of the votes - a fall of 11.3% on the votes she received two years ago.
It follows a similar country-wide trend for the Labour Party which has lost 59 seats so far.
Party leader Jeremy Corbyn admitted it had been a "very disappointing" night, adding he would not lead Labour at the next election.
Labour is on course to record its worst election performance since 1935, while the Conservatives are set to win their biggest majority since 1987.
