North Korean Leader Says Missiles Can Hit US Bases

North Korean Leader Says Missiles Can Hit US Bases
Kim Jong-Un claims his country can now strike US military bases in the Pacific.

The North Korean regime launched two mid-range ballistic missiles of its eastern coast yesterday.

The first test is said to have failed but the second travelled around 250 miles and reached an altitude of 620 miles.

The North Korean leader, who personally monitored the tests, said the launch was a “great event” that improved the North’s nuclear attack capability, according to state media.

The Musudan rockets have a range of about 1,800 miles, meaning South Korea, Japan and the US territory of Guam are potentially within reach.

Japan described the tests as a “grave provocative action” while the United States and Seoul condemned them.

The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the tests were “brazen and irresponsible” and the UN Security Council held emergency talks and called for “urgent and united condemnation”.

The North is banned by UN resolutions from using any ballistic missile technology but frequently ignores such resolutions while also testing nuclear technology.
