
Trump To Nominate Army General As Next Top Military Adviser

US President Donald Trump has announced he plans to nominate four-star Army General Mark Milley to be the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Gen Mark Milley is currently the Army Chief of Staff and previously served as the 21st Commanding General of the United States Army Forces Command.
He also commanded troops during several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Making the announcement on Twitter, Donald Trump said General Milley would take over as the top U.S. military commander from Marine General Joseph Dunford.
Joseph Dunford’s term will come to an end on October 1st. Trump said the date of transition is yet to be determined.
Gen Dunford is a former commandant of the Marine Corps and commander of coalition troops in Afghanistan.
Mr Trump's decision was made before he left Washington to attend the annual Army vs. Navy football game in Philadelphia.
