WATCH: Defence Secretary Asked If 'He Will Be Foreign Secretary By Teatime'

The Defence Secretary was asked a tongue-in-cheek question in the House of Commons about whether he would replace the recently-resigned Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary.

Labour MP for Cardiff West Kevin Brennan asked Gavin Williamson: "What discussions has he had with the Foreign Secretary about defence exports by UK companies - and does he think he might be Foreign Secretary by teatime?"

Mr Williamson responded:

"In answer to the last bit, I am very confident the answer is no to that.

"I have regular discussions with the former Foreign Secretary over export."

The Defence Secretary went on to praise the Department for International Trade and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their work with the Ministry of Defence.
