Fake blood and gore prepares troops for real-life casualty evacuations

Aided by fake blood and gore, troops from the 3rd (UK) Division Signal Regiment are getting a chance to hone their emergency medical skills – ready to put them into practice for real.

The simulated helicopter casualty evacuation exercise in Cyprus was designed to look very realistic.

The Signallers - who would rarely find themselves tending to the wounded on the battlefield - have been practising a range of basic soldiering skills in Cyprus.

3rd (UK) Division Signal Regiment is critical to ensuring secure and reliable communications at the forefront of British Army Operations and is normally based at Bulford, Wiltshire.
