UK forces among 4,000 personnel in Germany for US-led Combined Resolve 25-1

UK forces will be among 4,000 personnel participating in Combined Resolve 25-1 in Germany.

The UK forces are part of the Nato allies and European partners, which consist of representatives from Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Moldova, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, and Spain.

Exercise Combined Resolve is a recurring exercise designed by US Army Europe and Africa to prepare a multinational brigade to support Nato's deterrence initiatives.

Combined Resolve 25-1 is a "significant investment in strengthening the cohesion of the Nato alliance and the overall readiness of Allies and partners in a dynamic security environment", said the US.

These types of exercises are routinely conducted by the US military forces in Europe with allied and partner nations to enhance interoperability.

Leading the exercise will be the Joint Multinational Readiness Centre, the 7th Army Training Command directorate.

During Combined Resolve 25-1, the US Army is implementing its Transformation in Contact (TiC) initiative, which will "utilise new technologies and systems designed to enhance its warfighting readiness and ability to respond to crisis or conflict".

TiC is intended to help army units stay agile in a fast-changing battlefield environment.
