Russia has lost 1,000 armoured vehicles and tanks in Ukraine since October

Russia has lost more than 1,000 armoured vehicles since October 2023, according to Western officials.

Despite achieving very little in terms of territorial gain, the Russian Armed Forces are believed to have lost hundreds of main battle tanks and armoured vehicles, particularly in fighting around the city of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.

Western officials also confirmed the destruction of the Russian missile corvette known as 'Ivanovets'.

Since October 2023, it is thought that 365 Russian main battle tanks have been lost, and around 700 other armoured vehicles have been destroyed in battle.

Over the last 118 days of the conflict, Russia has lost on average 17 armoured vehicles or main battle tanks every 24 hours.

It is also believed that Ukraine is suffering heavy casualties as the war continues.

In addition to the heavy losses for Russia in terms of armoured vehicles, it was reported last year that Moscow has also suffered approximately 302,000 casualties.

Tens of thousands are thought to have deserted since the start of the conflict, according to the MOD.

Currently, heavy fighting continues to unfold as the Russians attempt to conquer Avdiivka.
