Al-Sweady Inquiry: Murder And Torture Allegations "Lies"

A public inquiry has ruled that allegations of murder and torture made against British soldiers by Iraqi detainees were “deliberate lies”.

The Al Sweady Inquiry released its findings after five years of investigation, hundreds of hours of testimony and having cost the taxpayer around £25 million.

But it also concluded that British soldiers did mistreat nine Iraqi detainees after a fierce battle ten years ago.

Forces TV spoke to Tony Harris, who served in Iraq three times with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Matt Teale started by asking what he thought British Soldiers would be taking from the news.
