A British Army Apache has landed on a beach in Wales while practising landing in Tactical Landing Zones.

A video posted on Twitter by 4 Regiment Army Air Corps showed 656 Squadron Army Air Corps landing the helicopter on the Army's training area at Pembrey Sands.

The Ministry of Defence's (MOD) Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) replied to the tweet saying beach landings are an important use of the training area, which is also used for air-to-ground bombing and strafing practice.

Last month, the new Apache AH-64 helicopter became operational.

With a full-colour, larger picture of the battlefield, the new E model also has a top speed of 186 mph, allows for greater target acquisition and is expected to get new Hellfire missiles.
