Former Head Of Army Reacts To Brexit

General Sir Mike Jackson, the former Chief of the General Staff, spoke out about vote to leave the EU and said he was "shocked."
 
Asked how he we was reacting to the news, he said:
"We are where we are. The people have made their voice clear, and we must now move on."
Forces TV asked him what this might mean for Britain's defence and security.
 
He said that he fears for a breakup of the UK as a result of more referendums in the wake of today's vote.
 
This could impact Britain's nuclear deterrent.
 
He also pointed to uncertaintities about our strategic relationship with Europe.
 
Looking to the future, he said: 
"The politics of the EU are such that one must avoid hostility re-emerging in Europe."
