Airborne soldiers from 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment have been taking part in Exercise Vigilant Isles 25 in Japan alongside the Japanese Ground Self-Defence Forces (JGSDF).
The exercise saw infanteers from A Company train with the JGSDF's 1st Airborne Brigade in Enami. British troops jumped using Japanese parachutes, and the two nations' troops got to know each other's equipment and tactics.
Alongside the parachute jump, the soldiers also observed a ground missile being launched during a live-fire demonstration by Tokyo's forces.
Other elements of the bilateral training drills included force-on-force fighting in the snow, medical training, and both countries showcasing their uncrewed aerial vehicles to one another.
