Reservists from 7 Scots leave day jobs behind to hone urban ops and room-clearing skills

Army reservists from The Royal Regiment of Scotland have been honing their urban warfare skills in a purpose-built training facility.
The simulation facility in Dundee creates a realistic training environment for the soldiers, allowing them to practise their room-clearance skills.
The soldiers from 7th Battalion also got to train using simulated ammunition, to make the exercise even more realistic.
A Canadian reservist also joined in as she was part of a Reserve Forces Foreign Exchange Student programme from 48th Highlanders of Canada.
The new facility, located in Oliver Barracks, is designed to let infanteers prepare for deployments in the UK and overseas.
Based in Perth, 7 Scots is a light role battalion that's commanded by 19th Light Brigade, which forms part of 1st (United Kingdom) Division.

Training at weekends highlights the immense level of discipline and commitment by reservists within 7 Scots as they juggle their civilian routine and day jobs in order to take part.
Reservists bring specialist civilian capabilities that are essential both on and off the battlefield, and in return they gain transferable qualifications by training with the Army.
The roles and tasks demanded of the Army Reserve continue to evolve, with more opportunities to enjoy the challenges that come with being a Reservist both in the UK and worldwide.
