Princess Anne joins Royal Logistic Corps to mark 30th anniversary
Five hundred personnel from the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) marched through Winchester and saluted the Princess Royal as they marked the corps' anniversary.
Crowds gathered on the streets of the Hampshire city on Thursday to watch the procession in front of Princess Anne, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the RLC.
This was the Royal Logistic Corps' first parade in Winchester since being granted the freedom of the city and marked 30 years since the creation of the corps in 1993.
The corps is based at Worthy Down Barracks, near Winchester, which was opened by the Princess Royal in 2021.
The RLC was formed from an amalgamation of the Royal Corps of Transport, the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, the Royal Pioneer Corps, the Army Catering Corps, and the Postal and Courier branch of the Royal Engineers.
Princess Anne inspected the troops that took part in the parade and spent time talking to many of them.
Colonel Patrick Allen, the regimental colonel for the Royal Logistic Corps, said: "It's been absolutely amazing. What a privilege to firstly be in our new regimental home, be granted the freedom of the city, and to have our Colonel-in-Chief here; words escape me.
"It is such a tremendous privilege."
