Royal Yeomanry presented with Freedom of Shrewsbury

The British Army's largest Reserve Light Cavalry Regiment has been presented with the Freedom of Shrewsbury.

The Royal Yeomanry Regiment was inspected by the Royal Honorary Colonel Princess Alexandra on Saturday after personnel marched through the town, as onlookers lined the streets.

Their Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Charlie Field, told Forces News: "It's the first time in a number of years that we will have seen our Regimental Honorary Colonel, so it's a huge privilege to be able to parade in front of Princess Alexandra."

Trooper Daniel Jackson, D Squadron, Royal Yeomanry, said: "It was a really proud day and, being local to Shrewsbury, it was really nice to walk through my hometown with my regiment and I was very, very proud to get the Freedom of Shrewsbury."
