HMS Prince of Wales arrives in Liverpool - a day earlier than planned appearance

The Royal Navy’s newest flagship, HMS Prince of Wales, has arrived in Liverpool a day earlier than her originally planned schedule.
The city woke to the arrival of Britain's largest warship, which was supposed to have appeared on Monday, however, due to weather conditions her timings were changed.
The aircraft carrier is taking over the role of flagship from her sister ship HMS Queen Elizabeth on a rotational basis.
The Royal Navy said: "The carrier is now alongside at the Cruise Liner terminal, a proverbial stone's throw from the Liver Building, Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building - 'The Three Graces'.
"She'll be in her affiliated city until next Monday, 9 December, for a series of high-profile engagement events aboard and ashore, including receiving the Freedom of the City on Friday, and two open days for 20,000 members of the public."
Her time on the Mersey will allow her 800 crew to engage with local schools, community projects and civic leaders.
This will also give the public an insight into life aboard the Portsmouth-based warship as she gears up for a global deployment.
