HMS Queen Elizabeth returns to Portsmouth after training with RAF and HMS St Albans

Watch: HMS Queen Elizabeth returns after latest period of sea trials

The Royal Navy's flagship has returned to its home following a 10-day period of training with the Royal Air Force and personnel from Britannia Royal Naval College.

HMS Queen Elizabeth has returned to her Portsmouth home after routine training and sea trials which saw her crew work in different roles, work with Chinook helicopters and host visitors from the Dartmouth college.

She also worked closely with the Type 23 frigate HMS St Albans during her Fleet Operation Sea training.

The vessel departed from Portsmouth on its latest period at sea on 21 October.

During her time at sea, she welcomed a team from Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth.

HMS Queen Elizabeth also worked with the Chinooks from the RAF's 7 Squadron, which also gave members of the lower deck crew a chance to work on flight operations.

This change in roles allowed Queen Elizabeth's crew to see different perspectives on the running of the carrier.

Whilst operating with St Albans, the ship worked on performing close-proximity movements and warfighting simulation drills.

Following the completion of her training alongside the RAF and HMS St Albans, HMS Queen Elizabeth returned to the Princess Royal jetty in Portsmouth.
