The Sea King kept eyes on the diver as Somerset's rescue boat pulled him out of the water.

The diver had become separated from his buddy when diving a wreck several miles off the Lizard Peninsula.

HMS Somerset’s Commanding Officer, Commander Michael Wood, said:

“There can be no better feeling than knowing you have helped to save a life; at sea we all depend on each other for our safety and well being. Everyone worked well together to ensure the safety and survival of this diver.”

HMS Somerset has now resumed her duties patrolling the British coast.
