Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer leaves Portsmouth to test her readiness through sea trials
One of the Royal Navy's most advanced Type 45 destroyers will be undertaking trials at sea to test her capabilities and readiness.
HMS Dauntless, known for her exploits in tackling drug smuggling in the Caribbean worth hundreds of millions of pounds, is headed back to sea for the latest tests.
"Dauntless is headed back to sea for trials and training to prove systems and increase our readiness," wrote HMS Dauntless on X.
She could be seen departing Portsmouth dock on the morning of 21 August.
In December 2023, HMS Dauntless returned to the UK after a deployment in the Caribbean where she was responsible for seizing millions of pounds worth of drugs.
During her 28,000-mile deployment, she seized more than £200m worth of cocaine from drug traffickers and provided support during hurricane season in the Caribbean.
