Technology used by UK Navy's minehunters that may help Ukraine keep its waters safe

Able Seaman Diver Rich explains the use of the Navy's EOD and diving equipment

What tech and equipment would you need to combat mines out in the ocean when you're on a minehunter?

BFBS Forces News reporter Simon Newton found out when he was shown round some of the Royal Navy's EOD and diving equipment by Able Seaman (Diver) Charles Rich on Exercise Sea Breeze.

The exercise, taking place near Weymouth, involves minehunters and EOD divers from across the alliance, with 11 days of intensive training focused on preparing Ukraine for post-war demining operations in the Black Sea.

It is hoped that the Ukrainian sailors taking part in the exercise can gain new skills to help them make their waters safe.
