RAF Rescue Mission in Northern Iraq Unlikely

A rescue mission in Iraq involving UK Forces is now less likely after a US special forces operation discovered that thousands of refugees had managed to escape from the mountainside where they were trapped.

British Aircraft will continue to drop aid to the remaining Yazidis on Mount Sinjar, and although RAF Chinooks have now arrived in Cyprus it's not clear yet whether they will need to respond.
