Statue Unveiled To Commemorate WWII Artillery Spotter Pilots

A statue commemorating a team of pilots who were the first to direct artillery fire from the air has been unveiled in Middle Wallop.
 
The Air Observation Post was formed in 1940 and took part in the Battle of France.
 
Along with the dedication of the statue, one of the unit's pilots was honoured with a Legion D'Honneur.
