21 Countries Commit to Defeating Islamist Extremism
21 separate countries have agreed to commit to defeating Islamist extremism.
Among those in attendance at the meeting of the "global coalition" against ISIL, at Lancaster House in London, were US Secretary of State John Kerry, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.
Mr Kerry said all 60 coalition partners are now making a contribution to the fight against IS.
James Hirst reports.
Forces TV's Sally Lockwood, meanwhile, spoke to Sir William Patey, Britain's former ambassador to Iraq and Afghanistan, about the significance of the meeting - and what he hopes it can achieve in combating Islamic State.
