3D Printed Lungs And Inflatable Chinooks

The latest developments in trauma medicine have been on display at the annual Trauma Innovation Conference in Birmingham.

The aim of the event is to see how lessons learnt through conflict can be translated into the wider healthcare community.

The focus of the conference was ballistic and blast injury. It saw military and civilian delegates come from across the world to attend.

Ideas on the agenda ranged from the use of virtual reality to create bespoke training environments, like the inside of a chinook, to the use of 3D printing to mimic body parts, or create ultra-realistic models (see above).
