Sir Malcolm Rifkind Steps Down as Chairman of ISC

Sir Malcolm Rifkind has stepped down as chair of the Commons Intelligence and Security Committee after more than 24 hours of rigorous defence of his position in the face of 'cash for access' revelations. 
 
The former Defence Secretary will also step down as a Conservative MP in May's general election.
 
The veteran politician denies any wrongdoing after being secretly filmed saying he could arrange "useful access" to ambassadors in London for a fee.
 
Labour MP Jack Straw, who was also the focus of the investigation by Channel 4 and the Daily Telegraph, also denies any wrongdoing.
