Army pentathlete Second Lieutenant Kerenza Bryson has begun her Olympic year strongly after winning bronze at the Hungarian Indoor Championships.

2Lt Bryson finished third in the women's final, crossing the line just two seconds behind GB teammate Emma Whitaker who won the silver medal, and home favourite Michelle Gulyas, who took home the gold medal.

She also went on to win team gold alongside teammates Whitaker and Charlie Follett.

An officer in 165 Port & Maritime Regiment RLC and a qualified doctor, 2Lt Bryson kicks off her 2024 campaign after a prolific breakout year in 2023, winning bronze at the World Pentathlon Championships in Bath, where she also secured a quota place for Team GB for this year's summer Olympics in Paris.

Adding to her accolades, she was also named Army Sportswoman of the Year in 2023 and she also recently won Athlete of the Year at the Her Sport UK Awards.

Next up for 2Lt Bryson is the first UIPM World Cup of the Olympic season in Cairo, Egypt, from 5-10 March, as she bids to secure her place on Team GB's squad for the Paris Olympics this summer.
