2 PARA wins Army Inter Units Boxing title after fiery Forces Fight Night in Aldershot
The 2nd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, have been crowned the Army Inter Unit Boxing Champions after a 6-3 victory over the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Anglian Regiment, in Aldershot.
The boxers from 2 PARA dominated the opening four bouts before the interval, with Private Rojan Bitmez looking particularly impressive in his light middleweight victory over Private Harry Veitch by a unanimous decision.
Following the interval, the boxers from 2 R Anglian staged a brief comeback, including a win for Lance Corporal Blake Holness in the middleweight category after his opponent was disqualified.
But further wins from 2 PARA, including Corporal Tony Jones in the cruiserweight and Private Jake Dawson in the heavyweight, put the title firmly out of reach for their opponents.
The boxers of 2 R Anglian did manage to claim one more victory in the evening, with Private James Edoh in the super heavyweight category, but that victory was won as a walkover bout after his opponent withdrew from the contest.
