Rising military boxing stars enjoy success at England Development Championships

Two female military boxers have been crowned national champions in the finals of the England National Development Championships in Kettering.

Army boxing's Kasharna Williams and the Royal Air Force's Jen Sabine defeated their opponents to earn their titles in their respective weight categories.

Williams defeated Newport-based boxer Zoe Portsmouth in the women's Under 52kg category by a unanimous decision.

Sabine, boxing in the Under 50kg category, beat Northside's Amina Patel by a referee stopped contest.

Elsewhere, Army boxer Frankie Barnett was defeated in her final by Amber Muggleton by a split decision in the women's Over 81kg.

Army teammate Felicity Johnstone was also defeated by a split decision by Hannah Jeffrey.

The Royal Navy were also represented by Bryony Vass, who was defeated by Kacie Doocey in the women's Under 66kg.
