Soldiers showcase boxing talent to raise funds for a good cause

Soldiers of the 12th and 16th Regiment Royal Artillery took part in a station boxing competition on Thorney Island, with the intent of showcasing the regiments' boxing talent.
With nine matches in total, men and women from the two regiments faced each other in fierce bouts with the winners receiving a trophy each.
An auction, hosted by event organiser Staff Sergeant Daniel Woolridge, also took place, as well as a raffle to raise money for the Royal Artillery Charitable Fund, a cause that provides assistance to all serving or retired Royal Artillery officers, soldiers, and their dependents in their time of need.
Awards were also given out at the end of the evening, where the award for the 'Best Bout' was made to Gunner Burling and Lance Bombardier Wynn, who both boxed in bout seven.
Lance Corporal Russell won the 'Best Boxer' award and Gunner Birchall-Green was awarded the 'Most Courageous Boxer'.
