War of the Roses: 1 LANCS and 1 R YORKS boxers prepare for Army boxing final showdown
The top military boxers from the British Army's 1 LANCS, go head to head with the stars of 1 R YORKS in the 2024 British Army Boxing Final – a night billed as the War of the Roses.
Cyprus-based 1 LANCS beat Royal Welsh in the semi-finals.
1 R YORKS beat 13 Air Assault Brigade in their last four clash.
It promises to be an exciting night of bouts with the best boxers to take to the ring in Aldershot.
Every jab, block and upper cut will be broadcast live on the Forces News YouTube channel.
A sport with a long and deep tradition within the Army, the Inter Unit Boxing Finals has long been dominated by the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment.
Last year's Army boxing final saw a terrific battle between 2 PARA and 1 Royal Anglian Regiment with 2 PARA coming away with the trophy.
The Inter Unit Championships is a team competition that has been running for more than 100 years.
Steeped in history, units compete in matches on a knock-out format. The other of the Army Boxing Association's annual competitions is the Army Inter Corps tournament which is run over the course of a week in early June.
The Army Boxing Final action comes just a few weeks after an exciting Inter Services which saw the Army reign supreme.
