British Army women ready to change their fortunes in key Royal Navy Inter Services clash
2025 marks a new dawn for the British Army women's football team and the first step to changing their recent bad fortunes is to end a losing streak against the Royal Navy.
With Sergeant Craig Parker taking the role of head coach, and a number of good performances in the Southern Counties Cup behind them, the Army are hoping to take the challenge to the reigning Inter Services champions from the RAF.
The Air Force beat the Navy in Havant in match one of the tournament but the Senior Service have a good recent record against the Army – winning their last three encounters.

The match is live on the BFBS Forces News YouTube channel from 13:45 UK time on 25 March but can the Army answer their critics this season?
"When you talk about [the last few years] not being too kind, I would definitely agree," said Sgt Parker.
"We haven't been good enough and we talk about it quite a lot. When you look at foot races, we've been third for the last couple of seasons.
"Going into this, I think we've just got a bit of a different mindset. We're unpacking the Inter Services. We're not looking at the Inter Services as a whole. We're more looking at it as two games."
Lance Corporal Courtney Jones has been a leading player for the Army and UK Armed Forces teams and expects a challenge from the Navy.
She said: "We're expecting them to come at us but we're just going to focus on ourselves, stay calm and play our game.
"Ultimately, if we play our game, I'm confident that we will come out with a result."
