RAF sergeant made full-time Wolves Women boss after Elite Athlete status award

RAF Sergeant Dan McNamara has been promoted to a full-time role as Wolves Women's head coach after being given Elite Athlete status by the Air Force.
Sgt McNamara is the first coach to be given Elite Athlete status by the RAF and has been leading Wolves in a part-time role since January 2018.
He's led Wolves to their best run in the Women's FA Cup and two promotions in his time at the club.
- Military referees part of officiating teams for Carabao Cup first round matches
- Royal Air Force karting teams pull an all-nighter to compete in 24-hour race
- Silver success: British Army tug of war reach multiple finals in British and Irish Championships
Sgt McNamara is hoping to share expertise from the FA Women's National League club with his roles within the RAF men's senior team and UK Armed Forces women's team.
"We want to help repay the RAF because it's a massive thing that they've done for me," said Sgt McNamara when speaking to the Wolves website.
"I've just taken a role with the senior rep team within the RAF and the stuff I'm picking up off James Collins and Ian Sharps is amazing for me to take back into that environment.
"My role within UK Armed Forces women, I'm taking stuff from here and trying to embed that into the UK Armed Forces."
