Watch: Who are the key players in the British Army women's football team?

The British Army women's football team will take part in a must-win Inter Services match against the Royal Navy – but who are the key players on the pitch in a red shirt?

The Army travel down to Havant on 12 March and, after a 2-0 defeat to the RAF last week, anything but a win would end their title hopes.

So who are the players who could pioneer an Army victory? Here are just a few who could make an impact.

Libby Dixon

A regular goalscorer for UKAF under Karl Milgate but she'll be kicking herself for a missed opportunity in the first half against the RAF.

It would have levelled the scores at 1-1, but that disappointment will drive her to put it right against the Royal Navy.

A Libby Dixon goal would not be a surprise in Havant.

Anna Birtwhistle

The captain of the team and a leading figure from the midfield.

Birtwhistle has previous footballing ties in the North East having appeared for Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

Since 2019, she's been an ever-present for the Army and the Royal Artillery.

Alison Croucher

An attacking midfielder with an amount of experience that doesn't come around in military football very often.

She spent five years at Manchester United before taking a six-year expedition to the USA to continue her footballing journey.

She now represents the Adjutant General's Corps and they won the 2023 Edwards Cup.

Demi Edwards

The Navy will have highlighted Demi Edwards as a tricky attacking threat who could easily unlock any defence.

She was a goalscorer against the Irish Defence Forces while wearing a UKAF shirt in 2023 and this is her fifth Inter Services so plenty of experience at this level.

She's now playing her civilian football at Tier 4 with Loughborough Lightning.
