Military boxers have taken part in a three-day nationwide tournament.

The Haringey Box Cup provided another opportunity for the fighters to prove their worth against opponents from across the country.

On day one of the tournament, there were over 30 forces athletes involved but, by the final day, that number had been whittled down to just nine.

Sophie Colbourn is a shining light for the Navy and managed to defeat Oriance Lunghu.

Her Navy teammate Pete Oswald lost, while on the RAF’s team there were victories for Ryan Evington and Jess Morgan, who beat Brady Gilmartin of the Royal Artillery.

The Artillery’s other boxer in the final, Jake Bagnall, also lost, as did the Army’s Josh Woods and Carrie Roberts.

Shamim Khan led the way for the Army by beating Conner Adaway, and also won by referee stoppage in the semi-finals.

The full results of the Haringey Box Cup 2019 are available online.
