Armed Forces Karting Championship kicks off 2026 season with exciting races at Llandow Circuit

The opening round of the 2026 Armed Forces Karting Championships was a fruitful one for the Royal Navy.
Kart 48, representing the Royal Navy Royal Marines Fleet Air Air team, won the opening endurance military race of the day before their teammates in Kart 46 won the overall second endurance race.
The third and final endurance race saw no Navy representation and RAF Brize Norton's Kart 71 picked up the win while civilian Jack Twilley won the Premier final.

The Premier category sees individual drivers battle in shorter, faster races and it was the Army's Ian Hodgkiss who finished highest out of the military races in fourth.
The most impressive military performance of the weekend was in the second endurance race where the Navy karts finished in first and third on the podium – an impressive feat against teams such as Alessia Racing and Monkey Motorsport.
The next race of the Armed Forces Karting Championship comes in Dorchester at Clay Pigeon Raceway on 22 May.
