RAF swimmer Kyle Booth narrowly misses out on Commonwealth Games 100m breaststroke semis

RAF swimmer Corporal Kyle Booth’s hopes of a Commonwealth Games medal in the 100m breaststroke competition are over after he narrowly missed out on qualification from the heats.

The fastest 16 swimmers qualify from six heats, with Cpl Booth coming in 19th and four-time Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Adam Ramsay-Peaty finishing quickest of everyone.

In heat 6, Cpl Booth finished in 01:03.25 and was nearly four seconds off the pace set by Ramsey-Peaty.

In the overall standings, he finished just 0.42 of a second slower than Jacob Storey from the Cook Islands who took the final qualifying spot.

Cpl Booth’s Games are not over though – he now turns his attention to the 50m breaststroke competition which takes place on Sunday.
