Army v Navy showdown off after Navy withdrawal due to player availability

The final match of the 2026 women's rugby league Inter Services championships is cancelled after the Navy withdrew due to player unavailability.

It was supposed to be an Army v Navy clash at Heworth on Friday night, but the Navy made the decision that they couldn't field a team for the clash.

The cancellation doesn't affect the Inter Services championship race after the RAF won the title for the first time ever last weekend.

The men's match is still scheduled to take place on Saturday live on the BFBS Forces News YouTube channel, with the championship on the line in Heworth.

If the Army overturn a 12-point deficit, they will win the championship but any other result will see the RAF win the trophy.
