Chance to impress: Army rugby's Sitiveni Vasuturaga makes Harlequins debut

British Army rugby union star Sitiveni Vasuturaga has made his debut for Harlequins in their opening win of the season.

The Fijian replaced Harry Johnson-Holmes in the second half to get his first taste of professional rugby action.

Quins started their campaign in style, beating Leicester Tigers 45-21 at the Stoop in a PREM Rugby Cup clash.

Vasuturaga serves in the Royal Artillery and rose to prominence as a powerful force in the Army's rugby league team.

At the start of last season, he switched codes and made a big impact in the rugby union team, starting both of the Inter Service matches.

He even grabbed a moment to remember at Allianz Stadium as he scored a try in the Army's 41–36 loss to the Royal Navy.

He signed a short-term deal at Harlequins for the opening game after impressing in pre-season, and he's hoping his short cameo can convince Quins bosses to invest further into his career.
