'Achieving things people dream of': Karriss Artingstall calls time on glittering boxing career

Former British Army boxer and Olympic medalist Karriss Artingstall has announced her official retirement from competitive boxing after a glittering career on the amateur and professional boxing scene.

Artingstall, who won bronze in the women's boxing at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, announced her retirement in a post on social media, saying that she has "achieved things that people dream of".

Her post read: "This is me officially announcing my retirement from the sport of boxing.

"From crying in the changing rooms at the age of 15 before my first bout, to the Olympic stage, picking up a bronze medal, then boxing on some of the biggest stages in female boxing and, lastly, becoming the first female to win the British Featherweight title.

"And of course, everything in between. Achieving things people dream of.

"Thank you, boxing. It's been some journey."

Artingstall, who formally served in the Royal Horse Artillery, turned professional following her Olympic medal success and, in 2025, went on to become the inaugural female British featherweight champion, where she dropped Raven Chapman to win by a unanimous decision.

She finishes her professional career undefeated with seven wins, including one knockout.
