International stage awaits for RAF referee Rebecca Piddlesden after Global WXV Series selection

An RAF rugby union official will continue a monumental 2026 with another international call-up.
Flight Lieutenant Rebecca Piddlesden has been selected to officiate at the upcoming Global WXV 1 tournament.
She's been selected as part of the officiating teams for three matches, starting with South Africa's away clash with Wales at Cardiff Arms Park on 18 September.

Two days later, she'll be in action in Dublin as Ireland host the USA before she completes her tournament with a trip to Western France as the French take on Canada at Stade Marcel-Deflandre on 26 September.
The official has picked up a huge amount of top-level experience over the past two years. She was the referee for big military games like the Army v Navy clash at Allianz Stadium as well as the Fiji v France clash in the final of the 2025 International Defence Rugby Competition.
Earlier this year, she made her debut at the Six Nations as part of matches including Italy, France, Wales and Ireland.
Flt Lt Piddlesden will be just one part of a triple header of RAF personnel at the tournament as Sarah Bonar has been selected to play for Scotland while Amy Cokayne will line up for the world champions from England.
