Putin test fires 'Satan II' missile 'capable of hitting the US'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the West to "think twice", claiming that his country has successfully tested a "truly unique weapon".

The new Inter Continental Ballistic Missile, known as 'Satan II', is reportedly capable of hitting the US, with a maximum range of 18,000km. 

Mr Putin said the successful launch of the missile will provide rival nations with "food for thought".

Russia claims the new missile can carry a maximum payload of 10,000kg, large enough to destroy an area the size of France.
