In pictures: UK-led training helps Ukraine establish distinct marine force
These pictures show Ukrainian marines being put through intensive training by the British Armed Forces in everything from trench and urban warfare and leadership to medical training and beach raids in inflatable boats.
Ukrainian forces are seen in various locations as they were tested in fieldcraft, battlefield first aid, close quarters combat, fitness, and unit planning in realistic scenarios, as well as small boat amphibious operations – conducting raids by day and night.
Almost 1,000 Ukrainian marines have been trained by Royal Marines Commandos and international partners over six months before they return to fight against the Russian invasion.
