UK reaffirms 'unwavering' support for Ukraine on day of its independence
The UK has joined its allies in reaffirming its support for Ukraine on the day of the country's independence, with services being held across the country.
Ukraine gained independence from the Soviet Union on August 24, 1991.
Thirty-two years later, the country is fighting for its freedom against invading Russian forces.
The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has shared its support for the nation and stated its "unwavering" commitment to support Ukraine until the war against Russia is concluded.
British military musicians paid tribute to Ukraine and played three tributes to the country.
These included: Lean on Me, the Ukrainian National Anthem and 'Oi U Luzi Chervona Kalyna' - a Ukrainian folk song that is traditionally patriotic.

The MOD wrote on social media: "Today we recognise 32 years of Ukrainian Independence.
"The UK is unwavering in its support for Ukraine, and together we have marked the occasion at services being held at training sites across the country."
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has responded with thanks to the United Kingdom and the United States for their continued support on social media.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement: "Today we are all celebrating the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
"Thirty-two years of uninterrupted independence, which will endure. Which we will not allow to be torn apart. And which Ukrainians will not lose grip on.
"The world hears and supports Ukraine. The world's majority stands with Ukraine and helps.
"But no matter what happens in the world, Ukraine must be able to defend itself."
