US F/A-18 blown overboard in rough weather

A fighter jet has been blown overboard off the deck of an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean, the US Navy has confirmed.
An F/A-18 Super Hornet assigned to Carrier Air Wing 1, embarked on the USS Harry S. Truman, went overboard during 'unexpected bad weather'.
The carrier was conducting a replenishment-at-sea when the incident took place and this was safely terminated through established procedures, the US Navy said on Sunday.

USS Harry S. Truman and her other embarked aircraft remain full mission capable and the incident is under investigation.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet recently made its big-screen debut, starring in the newest Tom Cruise film Top Gun: Maverick.
