Army veteran having a 'crack' at breaking world record at London Marathon

Army veteran Sally Orange hopes to use her London Marathon Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt for the fastest marathon as a savoury food item (female), while dressed as a cream cracker to show that she is "crackers about mental health".
The former Army major was medically discharged after 22 years of service due to her mental health and hopes that her quirky outfit – which she has worn at her local parkrun on weekends – will help to break the stigma surrounding mental health conditions.
With a time of 4:15:00 to beat, the GWR veteran does not seem to be phased, as she holds the title for the fastest marathon dressed as a nut (female) which she set in 2019, and she previously held the record for the fastest marathon dressed as a fruit, which has since been broken.
Earlier in the year, the former major took on the 'World Marathon Challenge' which saw her and other competitors run seven marathons, in seven days, in seven continents.
As well as continuing her work to raise awareness of mental health, this challenge saw her raise more than £11,000 for the following seven charities: The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE), The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA), Marathon Kids UK, Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST), Ripple Suicide Prevention, Walking with the Wounded and Scotty's Little Soldier.
Known for her food-themed endurance challenges, the Afghanistan veteran holds the GWR for the only person to complete a marathon in fruit costumes on every continent.
Major (Ret'd) Sally Orange joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1998 and completed 22 years of service as a Physiotherapy Officer.
