Scottish and NI Yeomanry follow in footsteps of Mandela and Connery

Soldiers from the Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry have paraded through Edinburgh after being granted the Freedom of the City.

Personnel from the British Army's newest combat regiment were awarded Edinburgh's most prestigious honour, after which they were permitted to march in the city, with bayonets fixed.

The reservists marched down the city's Royal Mile before a ceremony outside St Giles' Cathedral.
