The Nazi Occupation And Liberation Of The Channel Islands: Part 2

To mark 70 years since the liberation of the Channel Islands, which were under German occupation for almost five years during the Second World War – Tim Cooper visits Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark to speak to the residents who remember what life was like under Nazi rule.

As well as exploring the host of impressive fortifications and bunkers littered across the islands, this two-part documentary looks at the darker side of life at the time; the tough sanctions and rules imposed on the islanders, the severe lack of food and freedom, abhorrent conditions endured by slave labourers and the only concentration camp built on British soil.
