Watch: 9 Company Irish Guards will be providing the Escort to the Colour at this year's Trooping the Colour parade

Personnel from the Irish Guards have been filmed preparing for the King's Birthday Parade next month.

Number 9 Company were filmed on the parade square marching in two orderly lines while others filed out behind them.

They will be providing the Escort to the Colour at this year's Trooping the Colour parade.

Taking place on 15 June, Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial celebration of the current British monarch's official birthday, also known as the King's Birthday Parade.

Taking place at Horse Guards Parade in London, the event is the biggest highlight in the British military's ceremonial calendar – with last year marking King Charles's first as sovereign.

The King's personal soldiers, the Household Division, also take part in the day's proceedings, which includes more than 1,400 soldiers on parade, 200 horses, and 400 musicians.
