Calls for a Downing Street military officer to bring 'a bit of discipline'
The Chair of the Defence Select Committee has called for a military officer to be drafted into 10 Downing Street in an advisory role.
"Given what this current Government has faced at this moment, I think the nation would like to see clarity, a real line drawn on what what's happened in the past and how we're going to move forward," said Tobias Ellwood.
Mr Ellwood believes a military figure could act in a co-ordinating capacity, flanked by more "politically savvy" colleagues, could support the Prime Minister while also being able to "stand up to the boss".

"Right now, I think everybody can agree, we need a bit of discipline there," he added.
