Free Taxis For Veterans Thanks To Charity Initiative

Hundreds of veterans in Scotland are being offered free taxi rides, thanks to a charity initiative.

Fares4Free was set up by a cab driver David in Glasgow to help those struggling to travel to health appointments or with isolation.

Cabbie David decided to start providing free cab journeys to veterans after speaking to friends about the problems that some of them face.

Like any other taxi driver, David does have his regulars.

Passenger Helen often missed doctors’ appointments before she was helped by Fares4Free.

But today she’s been taken to the RAF Association’s wings cafe in Glasgow to meet up with others who have served in the air force.

Fares4Free works with charities and local councils to reach those who need assistance- and helping veterans get from A to B can make a massive difference.

David’s close relationship with the various charities and organisations he works with means he’s always there to help his passengers with anything they need.
